The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey Discussion *SPOILER*

The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey is the second book in the 5th Wave trilogy. I already didn't have very high hopes for this book because of the mixed reviews. Many people said they didn't enjoy the book and that it was too short and even fewer people said that they enjoyed it. Well I enjoyed it, but only because of the last part which was about the last 100 pages. If it were any longer I might have died. Unless it were of the last part. It surprised me that it was my favorite because I didn't really like the character is was the point of view from.
As I said, only the last 100 pages really interested me. Well nothing really happens in the first parts of the book, they don't even switch locations. I couldn't even find an actual plot line. Even reading the last part I couldn't find a plot but I didn't really mind it. In the first parts I think they are waiting for Ringer to come back to give the all clear? But they end up leaving anyway. Like I said, no plot.
Cassie in this book was so annoying. I read The 5th Wave about a year and a quarter ago but I don't remember her being annoying at all. (I also didn't remember Clary being that annoying in City of Bones but as I read it for the hundredth time, alas, she makes me want to claw my eyes out.) She was just acting so childish and complaining about everything, picking fights over little things, getting upset over nothing. But Ben was also annoying, a new thing for me. Evan was always weird to me so that wasn't new but I just found it weird that my least favorite character of the last book (Ringer) became one of my favorites.
Ringer wasn't my favorite character, though, my baby Razor is. While he is also like a child, he isn't annoying and I love my sunshine. It doesn't matter that he turned out to be a traitor in the end. The way he interacted with Ringer was just beautiful and I loved it when they played the board games together it was just so cute! For once, I actually have an actual otp. I shipped them and only them. Everyone else was just annoying. Also, HE ISN'T DEAD HE CAN'T BE DEAD
That's all I have to say on this, because, you know, nothing happened. I ended up rating it 4/5 stars, thanks to that last part and the introduction of my sunshine. Bye!
