Crown of Midnight Book Discussion *SPOILERS*

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas was just as everyone said it was- a spectacular sequel! I wouldn't say it was better than the first, maybe a tie. It was so different than the first that it's impossible to completely compare the two. While the first one, Throne of Glass, centered around the contest and had plenty of action, Crown of Midnight, for the first half, was mostly romance, then picks up with the action for the second half.
This is one for all the Chaol and Celaena shippers! I'm not on a team; I'm not a big fan of love triangles. Normally with them I just see how it plays out with each guy and unless I really like the idea of one pairing together (cough cough* Wessa *cough cough) so this was fine. I originally shipped Chaol and Celaena but now I don't care as long as there is some sort of romance. Let's just say, I didn't realize Celaena was this kind of the romantic.
For me, someone who loves the perfect mix of romance and action, felt it was a little separated. When books do that I usually prefer the action, I'm just that kind of girl! So when Celaena went to save Chaol but realized the actual danger, I started to freak out! Poor Nehemia! What's worse is they didn't even leave off on a good note *cries*! While reading this i had a hand over my face and the book attached to my nose. When she went to kill Chaol I was silently screaming, since it was like 12 a.m. and I was at my grandparents house.
When she found out that Grave was the one to kill Nehemia, I knew that his time here was gone. But it would leave slowly and painfully. I must say, I'm not disappointed in his death, I actually loved it! (Is that  bad?) When! She! Took! His! Head! To! The! King! And! Set! It! In! Front! Of! His! Employer(or whatever I forgot and I'm letting a friend borrow it so I can't look it up)! I! DIED! I had to put the book down so I could appreciate that with many muffled squeaks and jerky excitement.
RANDOM PARAGRAPH OF THINGS
I loved the scene where we got to read from the king's point of view because we were really able to see what goes on in his twisted mind! Dorian has magic?! Honestly how didn't I guess all of this? It makes so much sense! That's another thing I love about Maas's writing, making things so complicated and so simple at the same time! Celaena is the lost queen I just! I spoiled this for myself by trying to see how many pages there were and accidentally skimming the last page. Yeah, don't do that.
Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas was a beautiful novel and wonderful sequel! I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars and I would definitely read this whole series many times again!
